Goodreads:  In Until I Find You, celebrated author Rea Frey brings you her most explosive, emotional, taut domestic drama yet about the powerful bond between mothers and children…and how far one woman will go to bring her son home.

“”Frey is a rising star in the suspense scene”” – Booklist

2 floors. 55 steps to go up. 40 more to the crib.

Since Rebecca Gray was diagnosed with a degenerative eye disease, everything in her life consists of numbers. Each day her world grows a little darker and each step becomes a little more dangerous.

Following days of feeling like someone’s watching her, Bec awakes at home to the cries of her son in his nursery. When it’s clear he’s not going to settle, Bec goes to check on him.
She reaches in. Picks him up.
But he’s not her son.
And no one believes her.

One woman’s desperate search for her son . . .

In a world where seeing is believing, Bec must rely on her own conviction and a mother’s instinct to uncover the truth about what happened to her baby and bring him home for good.

Ope’s Opinion:   Rea Frey has done it again!  She wrote a book that has you looking over Bec’s shoulder from the first page – Yes first page!  The writing is so good you can feel Bec’s fear.

The part that let me down just a bit was Bec’s constant refusal of help.  There were people in her life that were willing to help and she wouldn’t accept the help.  She also didn’t act rational some times, then wondered why people didn’t believe her.

The ending was a little off for me. I don’t know what I was expecting, but this wasn’t it.  The epilogue felt like the end of chick lit novel, not a thriller novel.

Christmas Angels

Author: Nancy Naigle
Publisher: St. Martin’s Griffin
Genre: Holiday Book
Source: Purchased

Goodreads:  Growing up, Liz Westmoreland dreamed of taking over her grandparents inn located in the small mountain town of Angels Creek only for it to be sold before she ever got the chance. While browsing the internet, she stumbles upon a listing for what looks to be the picturesque inn and it’s set to go to auction. Liz places a bid, and by a miracle, wins the auction. But when she gets there she finds the property in significant disrepair.

When Matt Hardy narrowly lost the inn and property that butted his land, he just hoped it wasn’t another city slicker coming to make matters worse after the previous owners gutted the place for an art gallery. But the minute he recognized the sweet, freckle-faced girl from his childhood and heard her plans to reopen the inn, he jumps at the chance to help his childhood crush restore a place where he made so many fond memories.

While working on repairs, Liz and Matt discover her grandmother’s collection of angels in one of the cabins. When the angels start mysteriously showing up all over the inn, she begins to look at them as reassurance—that restoring the inn is what she’s meant to do. But when an accident leaves Liz feeling like she made a mistake, will Matt—and the residents of Angels Creek—be able to show Liz that she’s found a home? And possibly true love as well?

Ope’s Opinion:  This is such a wonderful Christmas read.  I enjoyed it from beginning to the very end.  The characters are believable and you root for them.  I want to go to their town and stay at the inn.  When Nancy Naigle writes I see it – she does such an awesome job of descriptions.

This story just took me away and made me relax at a time when that doesn’t happen too often!

The ending was exactly what you want at Christmas – makes your heart warm.

The Wedding Sisters

Author: Jamie Brenner
Publisher: St. Martin’s Griffin
Genre: Chic Lit
Source: From a Free Library

Goodreads:  Meryl Becker is living a mother’s dream. The oldest of her three beautiful daughters, Meg, is engaged to a wonderful man from one of the country’s most prominent families. Of course, Meryl wants to give Meg the perfect wedding. Who wouldn’t? But when her two younger daughters, Amy and Jo, also become engaged to celebrated bachelors, Meryl has to admit that three weddings is more than she and her husband, Hugh, can realistically afford.

The solution? A triple wedding! At first, it’s a tough sell to the girls, and juggling three sets of future in-laws is a logistical nightmare. But when Hugh loses his teaching job, and Meryl’s aging mother suddenly moves in with them, a triple wedding is the only way to get all three sisters down the aisle. When the grand plan becomes public, the onslaught of media attention adds to Meryl’s mounting pressure. Suddenly, appearances are everything – and she will do whatever it takes to keep the wedding on track. As money gets tight, her mother starts acting nutty, and her own thirty year marriage starts to unravel.

In the weeks leading up to the nuptials, secrets are revealed, passions ignite, and surprising revelations show Meryl and her daughters the true meaning of love, marriage and family. Jamie Brenner’s The Wedding Sisters invites readers to the most unpredictable wedding of the year.

Ope’s Opinion: This one is very difficult for me to review.  I absolutely did not like the language in this book – it was over the top and repetitive.  It was hard to relate to – they were whining about having three weddings to pay for and everyone had more then enough money for all of the weddings.  The detailed descriptions of the sex scenes added nothing to the story.

The synopsis and the cover were great!  The sister and parent relationships were enjoyable to read about, but those were not enough for me want to pass this book on.  I was very interested in reading Jamie Brenner’s book The Husband Hour, but now I am concerned it will contain the same language and descriptive sex, so I am rethinking.
