Piper may be a high-powered businesswoman now, but she soon realizes that her schoolgirl crush is not only alive but stronger than ever, and crippling her concentration. What’s more, despite Kyle’s distant attitude, she’s convinced their reunion isn’t at all coincidental, and that his feelings for her still run deep. And she’s determined to make him admit to them, no matter the consequences.

Ope’s Opinion:  K.A. Tucker knows how to develop wonderful women characters!  I love the story too, although I could live without the steamy parts of this book.  I knew when I started reading, since it is a new adult book, that there would be some steamy scenes – I just wish there was less steamy and more left to my imagination. 

The chapters flip from the young Piper and Kyle to the adult Piper and Kyle.  It was a great way to feel that first love, then see the grown up love. When the misunderstandings and secrets come out they explained what happened between camp ( past ) and present day.  Present day was my favorite part of the story, but it would not be complete without the background of their story which began at camp.

The twists keep coming right up to the end.  It kept me reading.  I did enjoy the ending.

Because how long can an extraordinary man like Brett be interested in an ordinary woman like Catherine…before the spark fades?

Ope’s Opinion:  This is my second K.A. Tucker book.  I thought the first one was okay, so decided to try her again.  I sure am glad I chose this one!

Although some say this a predictable story, I thought there were a enough twists along the way to make it interesting.  The characters were ones I became invested in and wanted the happy ending for them.

This book was set in the present, but had flashbacks.  The flashbacks were sad and helped the reader understand Catherine’s hesitation with her relationships.

I will keep K.A. Tucker on my radar to see what she has coming up next.

Ope’s Opinion:  This is the first book of K.A. Tucker in a series called Ten Tiny Breaths.  This book introduces you to Kacey, Livie and host of apartment dwellers.  The focus is on Kacey and Livie.  The apartment dwellers are interesting people.  

I really like how K.A. sets up the stages ( chapters ) to see how Kacey is making her progress through the loss of her parents, boyfriend, and best friend.  It is also interesting to see how she copes and reacts as apposed to her sister who was not in the car.

I didn’t care for all the foul language.  It did not add anything to the story or the characters personalities. The ending sort of frustrated me. I do not want to give anything away for those who plan to read it – but I just didn’t like it.

Rating:  Three Chairs – I like the book enough to suggest it to a friend or two.
