The Summer I Turned Pretty ( Summer, #1 ) by Jenny Han

The  Summer I  Turned  Pretty ( Summer #1 ) By Jenny Han

Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Pages: 276
Format: book

Goodreads:  Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer–they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one terrible and wonderful summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.

Ope’s Opinion:  It was great to get to know all the characters, especially knowing I was going to be able to follow them through three books.  This book had realistic adults as well as the youth.  Jenny Han took us back into their past, so we could understand their reactions.  Once in  a while it took me a few minutes to realize we had jumped from past to present or the other way around.  I am looking forward to reading It’s Not Summer Without You ( Summer #2 ).

Rating:  Four chairs – I like this book so much I know several friends to share it with.
